The following extracts from Keith's notes explain the change from TSG to TRG and provide a starting point for this new venture.
Fellow students
The last Theology Study Group was the 23rd study and marked a milestone for the group as it has been three years since we commenced. When we started the group we never wanted to become an institution and it’s always helpful to have a built in review period. After due thought we have decided not to continue with TSG at present. There are a number of reasons for this and for a while anyway, we want some of our energies to be channelled elsewhere. We may well continue TSG after a break but we’ll take soundings first.
The idea I have in mind for the next year is to organise an informal book reading club. We often know there are books that we should read but never get round to. For some of us the only way to do this is to meet up, say ever 2 months, and discuss what we have read. One person could be nominated to circulate a summary previously (a couple of pages) which point to some of the more interesting books. As a starting point I have suggested some cheaper paperback books which have a moderate theological content and meeting. In the selection I’ve tried to identify the kind of books that a serious student knows that s/he should read but needs some extra motivation to do it. Even if you have read the book before I hope you will benefit from the discussion surrounding it.
Meet at 7pm at Hockerill Christian Centre |
For each study I plan to have someone to introduce the book (or a section) and provide a couple of pages of the most helpful parts for them.

Don’t go and buy the books all at once! You may find them second hand at Abebooks or cheaper at the Book Depository.
We can see how matters develop. We may wish to look at more practically orientated books in due course, but I am concerned to build Biblical foundations at the first.
