Introduction

We believe that the Bible is the inspired and infallible Word of God and the sole authority for our individual, family and church life. The Bible alone strengthens Christians for life in these fast moving and challenging days.
Teaching and preaching from the Bible are therefore key elements of BSCA and feature prominently in our meetings.

As part of our desire to learn even more about the word of God we have a series of systematic theology teaching sessions on the third Saturday of most months. Based on Wayne Grudem’s Systematic Theology, the studies cover a wide range of topics and other texts and are led by experienced Bible teachers.

A note from Keith:

The next round of TSG starts on October 17, from 7pm to 9pm at the Christian Centre.
We plan to revert to moving through Grudem as a ‘conversation partner.’ I hope you can join us again.

Church government

Someone recently pointed me in the direction of www.archive.org It’s an enormous resource of scanned out of copyright books and audio files on almost any subject.  The need today isn’t for more information, but for the knowledge, nay wisdom, to sort out what is good.  At the TSG we try to recommend the good and stimulating stuff.

At the moment I’ve been reading Tim Keller’s superb The Reason for God.  I hope to wade through Dawkins’ The Greatest Show on Earth (note the obvious omissions of cosmology, origin of the universe and consciousness).  On this line of things I hope to look at (as opposed to read!) Stephen Meyer’s Signature in the cell.  The most interesting forthcoming book in this series is Norman Nevin’s (forward by Wayne Grudem) book Should Christians Embrace Evolution.  Crucially the book contains theological reflections, so often missing from the Christian side.

Don’t forget Themelios is available free of charge from the Gospel Coalition web site http://www.thegospelcoalition.org/

Yours in Christ,
Keith
