The day of the Mission Conference itself, which was held
These elegant surroundings formed the perfect backdrop for a day of worship and praise, hearing about a wide range of Christian work being done in various parts of the world. It included reaching people through mission, ministry and motors, the latter being part of a self help, business creation project. The need for practical aid to the poor of the world was a key item and the opportunity to hear about some of the desperate situations and treatment of some people was moving, but to hear about the great work that is being done was also encouraging. The need is great and should push us on to do more for those in poverty here and overseas. Anyone interested in mission work may wish to contact GLO, a Christian outreach organisation that has opportunities for short term or resident mission placements for suitable candidates.

On Sunday, many of those who had attended the conference were able to stay and join the morning service at the Christian Centre, where we were encouraged by the preaching and by sharing in fellowship and worship.
