Who we Are

We are an independent group of Christians of all ages and backgrounds who live in and around Bishop’s Stortford.
Our purpose and passion is to love and serve God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit together and to encourage others to do the same.

What we Believe

Our beliefs and practices are firmly rooted in the Bible, the Word of God, inspiring us to live as God wants us to. This is a big subject, but in summary we believe:

    • The Bible to be the inspired and infallible Word of God and the sole authority for doctrine and practice.
    • In one God of three equal persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
    • That the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ is the only way by which a holy God could justly forgive guilty sinners and declare them right.
    • That forgiveness of sins and therefore the eternal destiny of all people is determined by faith alone in Jesus Christ, the only Saviour of sinners.
    • In the visible, personal return of the Lord Jesus.
    • In the unity of the body of Christ and the importance of each Christian developing and using the gifts that God has given them for the benefit of others.

What we Practice

    • We remember the Lord Jesus Christ in a weekly "breaking of bread" (or communion) service.
    • We baptise believers by immersion as a public witness of their acceptance of Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord.
    • We meet together regularly for the worship of God, prayer, Bible teaching, fellowship and the sharing of our faith.
